Together, We’re Rebuilding Sderot’s Future

Located less than a mile from Gaza, Sderot has been the target of rocket fire for two decades. The result: a community collectively overwhelmed and distressed by a daily danger that won’t go away. To combat long-term emotional perils and acting on the city’s resolve to prevail, we are undertaking a series of projects designed to preserve, explore, present and promote Sderot’s cultural sustainability.
Sderot Cinematheque
The Sderot Cinematheque is a regional educational and cultural center serving an area equivalent to 75 percent of Israel, and includes the surrounding kibbutzim, moshavim and villages. Open year round, it seats over 400 in two modern auditoriums, offering programming for everyone, regardless of age, race, religion or gender.
Founders’ Home
Sderot is a success story on every level – courageous for its long-standing resilience in the face of rockets, a triumph of immigrant absorption and a center of regional cultural life. The city’s Founders’ Home will showcase these achievements and become a national focal point for regional tourism, contributing to Sderot’s economy year round.
