Warm Home Complex

Warm Home Complex

Hundreds of children in Sderot come from families facing economic hardship and absorption challenges. For the past 20 years the municipality has operated five after-school facilities where children aged 6-12 spend their afternoons. The children are served a hot meal and helped with their homework. Remedial lessons and emotional therapies are also on offer. During school holidays they operate as day camps. We call these facilities warm homes.

All five warm homes, however, are in locations difficult for the children to reach, far from schools and many homes. And none can protect the children from rocket fire.
The municipality has therefore decided to create a purpose-built facility to house six warm homes under one roof. Designed to be more efficiently run and much safer, land has been allocated for it in a central location.

The cost of offering a child regular use of a warm home is $720 per month, and we must raise funds to help 75 such children. Moreover, the cost of building the new Warm Home Complex is $360,000, which we must also raise. Naming opportunities are available.
