Sderot Cinematheque

Sderot Cinematheque

The Sderot Cinematheque is a regional educational and cultural center serving an area equivalent to 75 percent of Israel, and includes the surrounding kibbutzim, moshavim and villages. Open year round, it seats over 400 in two modern auditoriums, offering programming for everyone, regardless of age, race, religion or gender.

The Sderot Cinematheque is a place for meetings, exchanges and debates. Its proximity to the Sapir Academic College with its School of Communications guarantees the availability of leading

lecturers and Israeli artists working in cinema and television. It makes education a priority by welcoming classes during school hours and as part of regional after-school enrichment programs.

Our children’s day camps offer a culturally-enriching safe haven on school breaks. And special among our educational programs is “My Story” which invites local seniors to produce a short film about their lives, and so process the experiences and emotions that come with living along the border with Gaza.
