Sderot is not short of emergencies; it is, however, alarmingly short of emergency wards. Victims of rocket fire are frequently evacuated to hospitals in other cities, sometimes dangerously postponing life-saving surgery. The time lost between evacuation and reaching the nearest available operating theater can too often mean the difference between life and death – particularly when the ambulance carrying you is under fire.

To address this critical need, the city of Sderot has decided to build a modern regional medical facility for its 30,000 residents. It will include an emergency ward, a renal unit, and out-patient clinics.
