Gardening is good for you. Nurturing plants helps to combat loneliness and stress. It brings people together. It produces not only vegetables but camaraderie and solidarity. So, on four-and-a-half acres on the edge of Sderot we are creating an educational farm. Mornings will be dedicated to schools, with whole classes participating in regular weekly gardening sessions and environmental research projects. And in the evenings the farm will welcome families and groups of neighbors and friends, who will grow fresh fruit and vegetables throughout the year.

At the Sderot Educational Farm an appreciation of the environment will go hand-in-hand with overcoming collective trauma.

The cost of gardening sessions for a class of children is $480 per month. The small modern complex of classrooms also offers naming opportunities.
