Resilience Day Camps
At our Resilience Center, staff takes advantage of school holidays to help children of all ages overcome rocket-induced traumas. Over the years, we have found that the most effective route to easing tensions is a week-long day camp during which we teach children how to create personal safe spaces and help them bolster their inner strengths. We use animal-assisted and art therapy techniques to great effect. With about 20 children per camp, demand is on the increase.
Each year we hold eight week-long camps at the cost of $5,000 per camp.
Located less than a mile from Gaza, Sderot has been the target of rocket fire for over a decade. The result: the majority of residents suffer from PTSD, including 70 percent of children. The Sderot Resilience Center is the city’s emotional emergency room – providing individual, family and group therapies to anyone who needs them. All programs are offered free of charge.
